Final Fantasy 7 Remake

I think that a FF7 remake is iminent. With such a demanded remake at hand, not putting FF7 in development wouldn't be a sign of good faith to the fans. If I'm correct, the game would appeal to audiences other than Final Fantasy fans (let alone a FF7 fan). With the right promotion, a FF7 re-release would be a monumental time in Video Game history.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Scheduled for Release ??

I found this while searching FFvs13 and FF7 together. The staff was asked its usual question about a Final Fantasy VII remake. Kitase responded: "We've gotten this question a lot from many countries (laughs). To make FFXIII at this level of quality, it took us 3 to 4 years. If we were to make FFVII in the same style of FFXIII, it would take 10 times as long, so it would be difficult to take it up immediately. However, we always keep in mind how often this is requested." _______________________________________________________ Did SE say that I am gonna have to wait 30 or 40 YEARS to play the FF7 remake? Ok, let me get this straight. For a game to have the quality of FF13 and be as long as FF7, It will take SE 30 or 40 years? Does that mean that I will have to play SHORT or POOR QUALITY games from SE unless I want to wait DECADES?? On the contrary, I believe that FF7 is already in production. I mean, they already have the newly rendered characters (thanks to Advent Children, DoC and Crisis Core). Although we've seen and explored some major locations re-created in said titles (Nibelheim). The FF7 world is HUGE. Imagine staring up at the Gold Saucer =} If you've seen Noctis (FFvs13) traveling on roads, you've had a glimpse of the FF7 remake. SQUARE-ENIX......PLEASE Expand your staff so that I won't have to wait until I'm 50 YEARS OLD to play the remakes of FF6 and FF8

More on FF7 Release Date.. and who WON'T be Taking on the Challenge !

I found this while looking for rumors of speculated release dates for FF7 ____________________________________________________________________ Posted Dec 8, 2009 Last month(11/2009), in support of the upcoming release of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers exclusively on Wii, Akitoshi Kawazu and Toshiyuki Rahans (producer and director of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers respectively) were interviewed at Square Enix in Paris by French Final Fantasy fansites. After some time discussing Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers and earlier titles in the bloodline series, Kawazu and Rahans were questioned about the possibility of a Final Fantasy VII remake: Final Fantasy Dream: (Translated into English) “I have played the series since I was seven, and I know that you did not work on Final Fantasy VII, but honestly, do you really think that episodes VII-IX will be remade? Is this your next project? Akitoshi Kawazu: (Translated into English) "No, no, no and no... (laughs) Someone in the company will carry-out the remake of Final Fantasy VII, but not me. It will be an enormous project for whoever does do it. With the current technical specifications, it would be very difficult. But someone will do it." While far from confirming any exact details, Kawazu did reveal that the project has already been green-lit. Development may not yet be underway, with the pre-production for such an undertaking undoubtedly being extensive, and speculating on a release date and formats would be folly at present. However, it is now clear that Square Enix will capitalise on the widespread appreciation for Final Fantasy VII at some point, most likely within the next few years. The recent success of the PlayStation Network release of the original PlayStation version of Final Fantasy VII would suggest the game would do well when offered as a downloadable title, nothing is certain at present, and if updated with current-generation visuals a modern interpretation of Final Fantasy VII would surely be commanding of a fully boxed retail product price-tag. Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest details concerning a remake of Final Fantasy VII.

Square E-Enix's Thoughts on a FF7 Remake

This is just another site's posting about this discussion with Akitoshi Kawazu and Toshiyuki Rahans. ___________________________________________________________ Final Fantasy VII: the most critically-acclaimed Final Fantasy title and yet we’re still waiting on Square Enix to announce a remake. Although Square has yet to officially announce it, Final Fantasy: The Crystal Bearers (Wii) producer Akitoshi Kawazu and director Toshiyuki Rahans have shared their thoughts on a remake in a new interview. Kawazu and Rahans laugh and respond (through a female human translator) “Uhm, probably a remake of Final Fantasy VII, probably someone within the company is probably gonna do that, but of course, it’s not me.” She (the translator) laughed again. “And though, if they, someone wants to do the remake version of Final Fantasy VII, it’s going to be like a huge project. And also, with the current technical specifications, it’s going to be quite hard to that for the remake of Final Fantasy VII. It’s going to be difficult, but probably someone is going to do it.” The interview was done by Final Fantasy Ring, a French Final Fantasy fan site. However, the audio file of the interview was done in English, which is where we’ve taken the quote from (around the 30:30 mark).
